Give your feathered friends a treat and help them through the winter, while you stock up on their favorite birdseed at a special price.
Sunday, Jan. 18 is the deadline for orders from Audubon Community Nature Center’s (ACNC) Winter Birdseed Sale, your opportunity to save while you support nature education.
The most popular seeds and mixes are available at 10-20% off Audubon’s regular birdseed prices.
Conewango Blend, unique to ACNC, was developed to attract favorite and common species of the region such as chickadees, cardinals, and titmice. There are also suet cakes for woodpeckers and a mix to attract finches.
Non-Nature Center members receive 10% off ACNC’s birdseed retail prices; Nature Center members receive an additional 10% off (20% total).
The Nature Center building is closed January 5-16 for annual planning, but you can place your order by leaving a message at (716) 569-2345 for a return call or ordering online at AudubonCNC.org/Winter-Birdseed by Monday, January 18.
When you pick up your seed on Saturday, Feb. 7 between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m., volunteers will load it into your vehicle. You will also receive a 10% discount on most merchandise, including a variety of bird feeders and nest boxes, in the Blue Heron Gift Shop that day.
Audubon’s Conewango Blend is available year-round in the Blue Heron Gift Shop in the Nature Center and at Allegheny Outfitters, Warren; Ashville General Store, Ashville; Ekey Marketplace, Warren; Lighthouse Point Grocery, Mayville; Oneida Lumber, Ace Hardware, Warren; and Wegmans, Jamestown.
Audubon Community Nature Center is located at 1600 Riverside Road, one-quarter mile east of Route 62 between Jamestown, N.Y., and Warren, Pa. You can visit the nearly 600-acre nature preserve and check in with Audubon’s live birds of prey, explore the nature play space, and hike, snowshoe or cross country ski the more than five miles of trails dawn until dusk daily for free.
The three-story Nature Center building houses interactive displays, a collection of live animals including the hellbender exhibit and the Blue Heron Gift Shop. Visitors are welcome Mondays through Saturdays, 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and Sundays, 1 to 4:30 p.m. Nature Center members and SNAP/EBT cardholders have free building admission daily. Building admission is also free Sundays for non-Nature Center members.
