More than 25 floats to appear in Christmas parade

WARREN – Many residents of Warren County would say the highlight of the annual Holiday Walk is the Christmas parade. This year, more than 25 floats will travel from the intersection of Pennsylvania Avenue and Market Street through downtown Warren.

Visitors will see veterans to the parade, such as the Warren Area Cacophonic Kazoo Organization (WACO), Midtown Motors and the Warren County Shrine Club’s Zem Zem Hornets. However, there will also be a variety of new faces to the parade this year, including Lifestyle Home Furnishing, Warren Dragon’s Volleyball and Healing Beauty by Krista Jee.

According to Warren County Chamber of Business and Industry Director of Operations Savannah Casey, the parade lineup is as follows,

Casey also stated the lineup or number of entries is not final and changes could continue to be made up until the event.

This year’s Grand Marshall is Executive Director of Jefferson DeFrees Family Center Melinda Johnson.

Coordinating a parade can be a difficult task. “They are a lot to organize,” said Casey. “We work with the city, you have to close roads and public safety is a huge priority.”

The parade brings together community not just from the city of Warren but all of Warren County.

“Just because the parade is in the city of Warren, that doesn’t mean it is a city specific parade,” said Casey.

The Holiday walk has the ability to benefit businesses in any corner of the county.

The Holiday Walk will occur on Dec. 5 from 5 until 8 p.m. and the parade will begin promptly at 6 p.m. Those participating in the parade should arrive at the Tops Plaza early, as line-up will occur between 5 and 5:45 p.m.

Starting at $3.50/week.
