Quilts created by the Warren Quilters Night Out Quilt Guild are getting more than just a night out.

During the guild’s most recent meeting, members celebrated the holiday season in Wetmore Gallery on the third floor of the Warren Public LIbrary where 150 of their quilts will be on display. and where their quilts will be on display through Dec. 31.

In case the public did not know, the show has been set up every December at the Warren Public Library for the past few years. It is encouraged to come in during the Christmas Walk to enjoy the quilts, as well as other fun stations set up throughout the library in celebration for the season.

The guild has 10 monthly meetings that occur throughout the year, on the first Wednesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. at the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church on 306 Conewango Ave., Warren. New members of all skill levels are welcome to join at any time. The mission for the group is to promote friendships, share knowledge and talents and participate in projects that benefit the community. Guild members have made and donated quilts to many organizations and individuals such as A Safe Place, soldiers, the cancer and dialysis centers of the hospital and fire victims. This Quilter’s Night Out Quilt Guild is an active group that was formed over 25 years ago.

Every few years, a large show is set up at the TAWC building in the beginning of May where the members would appreciate volunteers to help set up.

Some quilts are shown on display on one of the 4 walls at the Wetmore Gallery.

Individual members have displayed their quilts at the Warren County Fair, while members plan to make patriotic quilts to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the United States this summer. Any and all quilters in the county are encouraged to enter their patriotic quilts in the fair.

The Quilter’s Night Out Quilt Guild will have their next show, on Feb. 4 from 5 to 7 p.m. displaying all of the red, white and blue quilts, at an opening reception hosted by the Warren County Historical Society, 210 Fourth Ave., Warren. Public viewing will be available through the end of March.
