Drake Well Museum accepting student intern applications

TITUSVILLE – Drake Well Museum and Park is now accepting applications for its summer Museum Internships and its new David L. Weber Research Internship, also for Summer.

The Museum is hiring two Summer Museum Internships, offered through Friends of Drake Well, Inc. These internships provide post-secondary students with valuable field experience including but not limited to developing educational programming, learning curatorial and archival skills, assisting with museum outreach, and more. The internships are paid, full-time seasonal positions taking place between May and August 2026. Interns will work primarily at Drake Well Museum and Park in Titusville, with one day per week at Historic Pithole City near Pleasantville. More information on these opportunities including position requirements and how to apply is available at https://www.drakewell.org/join-and-support-us/employment. Applications for these two internships are due by Feb. 9, 2026.

The third internship, the David L. Weber Research Internship, is also offered through Friends of Drake Well, Inc. This new opportunity is exclusively for graduate-level students with experience in research and academic writing. Named in memory of longtime Drake Well historian and researcher, David L. Weber, the internship will continue Weber’s work in furthering our understanding of the early petroleum industry in Pennsylvania. The intern will also write an article based on their research for the OilField Journal, Friends of Drake Well’s scholarly publication. More information on the Weber Research Internship including position requirements and how to apply is available at https://www.drakewell.org/join-and-support-us/employment. Applications are due by February 9, 2026.

All three internships are excellent opportunities for those studying History, Public History, Museum Studies, Archaeology, Anthropology, Education, Sciences (Chemistry, Environmental, etc.), Library Sciences, Non-Profit Administration, or related fields.
