Veteran offers thanks for holiday meal
A disabled Veteran would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the Elks Club after making a trip to the Veterans Affairs to receive a complete Thanksgiving dinner.
The man, who wished to remain anonymous, said he was amazed at the amount of food freely given as well as the overall community support that is given in this community.
From the VA to the Allegheny Valley Veterans Center and clubs like the Elks and Eagles, as well as the volunteers who provide rides to places like Erie and Pittsburgh for doctor appointments are vital to the assistance. This particular gentleman gave a sincere thanks to all of those who have been generous and very responsive to the needs of our area veterans. Expressing that he felt cared for, it goes to show that our Veterans are not forgotten, but deeply appreciated.
