WARREN – Will Champlin has resigned from the Warren Redevelopment Authority.
Champlin’s letter of resignation from the authority was read at the meeting. Since being elected to City Council, Champlin can no longer serve on the RDA.
“My brief tenure was illuminating and enjoyable,” Champlin said in his letter of resignation.
This leaves an open seat on the RDA. Those interested in the position can reach out to the city and find more information on the city’s website.
A renewal agreement with Brokenstraw, Cherry Grove, Mead and Pine Grove Townships for the use of emergency medical services carried unanimously. These agreements are the result of an increase in EMS calls from neighboring townships when volunteer firefighters and EmergyCare are unavailable. According to the city, this increase meant the spending of city resources without reimbursement.
With these agreements, townships will pay $300 per use of Warren’s EMS as opposed to $500 for the Townships that are not in the agreement.
According to the council, Youngsville and Clarendon are expected to request renewal agreements at the December City Council meeting.
The Warren Library Association recently decreased their Board of Directors from 12 members to nine. On Monday night, the City Council voted unanimously to remove the requirement of a city resident required to serve on the board.
The council also established Monday, Dec. 8, at 6 p.m. as the public hearing for the 2026 Municipal Budget. According to the council, the budget will be available for the public to view prior to the hearing date on both the city’s website and in the Warren Public Library.
