City Council prepares for 2026

The Warren City Council held meetings on Nov. 5, Nov. 10 and Nov. 13 to work on the 2026 city budget.

The Warren TImes Observer met with City Manager Michael Holtz and Finance Officer Jessicca Byler to discuss potential allocations in the 2026 budget.

Big projects that were discussed include wayfinding signs and kiosks being added to major areas in the city, renovations to the Clark Street parking garage and renovations to provide facilities to female firefighters.

The budget will also include funding for Warren Worx, the purchase of a new fire truck within the next five years and funding for the Riverfront Project.

The budget is comparable to 2025 at just over $10 million.

There will be no increases to sewer, parking or C.A.R. pool prices and no anticipated tax increase.

Holtz shared that the council worked collaboratively when making decisions about the city’s budget expenditures.

A public hearing is set for Dec. 8 where the public can attend and ask questions about the budget. The budget will then pass on Dec. 15.

Starting at $3.50/week.
