A familiar face will lead the Warren County Visitor’s Bureau.

Lisa Card, who has served as the bureau’s administrative assistant for the past four years, has been named its executive director. Card takes the reins from Casey Ferry, who served as Warren County Visitor’s Bureau executive director for roughly three years before taking a position earlier this fall with the Pennsylvania Route 6 Alliance.

“I have served the Warren County Visitors Bureau as administrative assistant for the past four years,” Card said in a Facebook post Thursday. “You may recognize me from either welcoming you when you came through the doors of the Visitors Bureau or you may have seen me in your community covering an event for our social media. With the blessing of the Board of Directors of the Warren County Visitors Bureau, I can officially announce that I will now be serving Warren County and its visitors as the executive director of the Warren County Visitors Bureau.”

Card detailed her family’s local roots, which date back to 1810. Her father was an avid outdoorsman, which Card said led to her growing up fishing, taking hikes in the forest and floating down the Allegheny River while getting to see the entire county.

She is married to Mike Card, and the couple have two children.

“Warren County is more than just a place on the map to me. It is home and is filled with people and places that I care deeply about. I will continue to dedicate myself to showing others what is special about each area of Warren County and what makes it a great place to visit or even live,” Card said. “You will still see me at many local events, and I will always make myself approachable for feedback and ideas to better promote our beautiful county. I’ve always been a firm believer that while the beautiful scenery in Warren County makes it a perfect place to visit, it’s truly the kindness of the people who live here that makes it even better. I want to thank all of you in advance for your support and patience as I adjust to my new role as executive director of the Warren County Visitors Bureau. I am honored and grateful to serve in this position for the county that I love so very much.”

The Visitors Bureau is a non-profit organization funded primarily through occupancy/hotel taxes. The WCVB is one of 50 tourist promotion agencies in Pennsylvania. This agency differs from a rest stop in offering much more than just information. The organization has a comprehensive website, sends out free visitor guides, collaborates with other regional tourism organizations, and keeps communities informed about what is happening throughout the county. The bureau typically has two full-time employees who work to market and promote Warren. Card has been in charge over the past few years of posting an extensive list of all events on the bureau’s Facebook page weekly.

The Warren County Visitor’s Bureau is funded by hotel occupancy taxes collected from tourists. It works with state and national organizations such as Visit PA, the PA Wilds, DCNR, and the U.S. Forest Service to ensure Warren County is represented in broader tourism and conservation initiatives.

Starting at $3.50/week.
