A donation from Pennsylvania General Energy is lowering the admission cost for the Warren Area Student Union’s annual haunted house.
Pennsylvania General Energy contributed $600 to the Warren Area Student Union for this year’s haunted house. This donation was made to reduce the admission price for “The Containment Zone” haunted house at WASU from $6 to $5.
The haunted house opens this weekend. Hours are 6 to 10 p.m. today, Oct. 17, and Saturday, Oct. 18, and 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 19. The haunted house will also be open from 6 to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Oct. 24-25, and 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 26, and Thursday, Oct. 30. Special sensory friendly tours will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 28, and Wednesday, Oct. 29. Tickets for the sensory friendly tours are $3.
In addition to the Pennsylvania General Energy contribution, more than $1,000 was raised at a recent breakfast hosted by Warren Eagles Club 313. The breakfast helped WASU students travel to Buffalo to visit the Frightworld haunted house.
The Warren Area Student Union is a non-profit organization that has hosted several annual events with the emphasis being on the teens creating the events.
Anyone interested in getting involved with this organization is encouraged to check out the Facebook page or stop in after school (open Monday through Friday from 3 to 6 p.m.) where Falber is waiting to greet youth. There are a variety of recreational activities going on at the WASU, including use of the building’s gym, game and dance rooms, crafts, and even a student-created kids theater program.
