In October, everybody’s calling North PA Ghostbusters

The North PA Ghostbusters have been busy this time of year.
People may have seen them donating their time at the Warrens Eagles Club 313 to benefit the Warren Area Student Union a few weeks ago or elsewhere in the community as the fan-based charity group is finding itself busy as Halloween approaches.
It was after the 2020 pandemic when they decided to start this journey. Their biggest goal has always been to aid worthy causes while providing a bit of joy and respite through being fans of the Ghostbusters series.
“We strongly believe in acting as a beacon of positivity in order to help bring people together,” said Jasson Halle, the North PA Ghostbusters founder.
Area residents are likely to see the Ghostbusters this month at fall festivals, such as last weekend’s “Fall Fest” in Tidioute where they helped raise money for students at Tidioute Community Charter School; the Eagles Club Trunk-or-Treat on Oct. 25, and Kinzua Healthcare’s Trunk or Treat on Oct. 29. Part of the crew was present at the Chautauqua County Humane Society Pet Expo over the weekend in Jamestown, where all proceeds will go to the Chautauqua County Humane Society.
The crew is taking donations for its second toy run. Donations accepted up until the first weekend of December, and then items are dropped off to a “Toys for Tots” location.
Last year, more than $400 worth of toys, winter hats, and gloves were donated for the cause, thanks to the help of the Ghostbusters.
“All Ghostbuster fan teams function independently, but we’ve really been improving our networking and occasionally working together. Our elder siblings in Buffalo are a prime example of that, with a yearly event that benefits the Hook and Ladder 8 in Tribeca, NY. It’s been bringing teams from all around the world together,” Halle said. “We’ve been proud to be part of the community as a whole.”
They are open to new ideas all the time and can be reached by email at northpaghostbusters@gmail.com. The North PA Ghostbusters can be found on Facebook as well as Instagram
