County to hold CDBG hearing today
The county will host a public hearing at noon today on its 2025 Community Development Block Grant program.
The hearing will begin at noon today, Oct. 15, at the Warren County Courthouse, 204 Fourth Ave., Warren.
The purpose of this hearing is to obtain citizen views and comments on the county’s proposed use of $237,530 in 2025 CDBG money and to receive any complaints or grievances regarding the county’s use of CDBG funds.
The meeting is accessible to individuals with disabilities and/or for persons with Limited English Proficiency.
Projects include the Sheridan Street Stormwater Improvement project in Tidioute. The project will include installation of the system as well as street restoration. This project is funded through portions of Warren County’s 2022, 2023 and 2024 CDBG allocations as well as a proposed $25,000 allocation in the 2025 CDBG program.
Another $179,925 will be spent on countywide housing rehabilitation while $22,450 will be spent to improve handicapped parking at the Spring Creek Park, an area that has seen extensive improvements in recent years.The park has received a new bathroom building, the park’s picnic pavilion has a new roof and fresh paint while vegetation has been cleared from the area near Brokenstraw Creek. The Warren County Commissioners have contributed $25,000 in Act 13 funding toward the project while the Community Foundation of Warren County contributed $13,000.
A final $10,155 will be spent on grant administration.
The deadline to submit the 2025 CDBG application is Oct. 31. The application documents will be available for public inspection at the Warren County Courthouse, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

The Warren County Commissioners will consider approval of the CDBG application at a special meeting scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 28, at 10:30 a.m. at the Warren County Courthouse.
