When Sandra Blum was a young mom in Warren County raising her family, she did so with determination.
At one point, she was a single mom relying on nearly every social service available. Finding strength and direction through her faith was a turning point. She began envisioning ways to help others break cycles of hardship. That’s why in 2012 through the present she has been the organizer of the Community Thanksgiving Dinner, feeding 300 people every year for the past 12 years. This built a tradition of gathering neighbors and serving those in need.
Starting in 2019, Blum dreamed about and developed Bee Courageous @ Garden Grub, a social enterprise blending trauma recovery, women’s empowerment and healthy food. She has created a three-year healing curriculum, journals, and community-based workshops. Presently, she, along with volunteers she is grateful for, launched the Warren County Harvest of Hope Community Gardens, which fosters shared growing spaces and stronger community ties.
Garden Grub expanded into a platform for vocational training and entrepreneurship for women in the program. Sandra is an outstanding example of the power of faith and perseverance. She is an entrepreneur, a faith-driven leader, and a community builder. Advocating for Warren County where healing, nourishment, and empowerment are accessible to all is her superpower.

“Every meal, every garden, and every act of courage is part of creating a harvest of hope,” Blum said.
