Warren man awaiting extradition to N.Y.
A Warren man has been jailed on $50,000 bail and is awaiting extradition to New York state.
Brian S. Tilyou, 44, of Warren was charged with arrest prior to requisition on Friday after Warren city police officers arrived at Tilyou’s address on Hazel Street for a welfare check. Tilyou was taken to the Warren County Jail until extradition takes place.
“Officers were able to make contact with the defendant, who we knew had an active felony arrest warrant out of (the) Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office in New York,” the Affidavit of Probable Cause states. “This warrant was confirmed with the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office as extradition from N.Y. and (Pennsylvania) only on the charge of failure to register as a sex offender.”
According to New York’s Sex Offender Database, Tilyou was convicted in August 2001 of a sex offense involving a 14-year-old girl when he was 20 years old. Tilyou had completed his registration at an address in Perrysburg, N.Y., in Cattaraugus County in 2023.
