State judges to speak at Democrats’ summer picnic Saturday

Warren County residents will have the opportunity to hear directly from several Pennsylvania judges and judicial candidates at the “Justices for All” summer picnic on Saturday, July 19, from 5 to 9 p.m. at Pellegrino’s Creekside Pavilion, 449 Conewango Ave., Warren.

The event, hosted by the Democratic Committee of Warren County, is part of the party’s annual summer gathering and will feature a panel of Pennsylvania Supreme, Superior, and Commonwealth Court judges, along with judicial candidates who will appear on the November ballot. The is open to the public and offers an opportunity to learn about Pennsylvania’s judicial system and the critical role the courts play in protecting democracy.

“This is a unique and rare chance to hear from several Pennsylvania judges on topics that are vital to our democracy,” organizers said in a news release. “We are honored to host such an esteemed group right here in Warren County.”

Judges and Candidates Scheduled to Attend: Justice Christine Donohue, Pennsylvania Supreme Court, Justice Kevin Dougherty, Pennsylvania Supreme Court, Justice David Wecht, Pennsylvania Supreme Court, Judge Alice Beck Dubow, Pennsylvania Superior Court, Judge Michael H. Wojcik, Pennsylvania Commonwealth Court, Judge Brandon Neuman, candidate for Pennsylvania Superior Court and Judge Stella Tsai, candidate for Pennsylvania Commonwealth Court.

Community members will have the chance to ask questions, engage in discussions , and hear directly from the judges and candidates about their roles, their views on protecting the integrity of the courts, and the importance of an independent judiciary in maintaining a strong democracy.

The picnic, themed “Justices for All,” is part of a regional effort. The Warren County Democratic Committee worked in collaboration with eight neighboring county Democratic committees to coordinate their summer events over the same weekend.

The menu includes pulled pork, pulled chicken, vegetarian options, side dishes, desserts and drinks. A cash bar will also be available.

“This year’s picnic is truly special because of the judges’ participation,” the press release said. “It’s a celebration of summer, community, and democracy, and we hope everyone feels welcome to attend.”

The suggested donation is $20 per person, but contributions of any size are welcome. Reservations are required and can be made online at www.warrendems.org or secure.actblue.com/donate/justices2025

Reservations can also be made by mailing a check to: Warren County Democratic Committee, PO Box 862, Warren, PA 16365. Write “Picnic,” the number of people attending, and a phone number on the memo line.
