Free high-speed internet now available at Tidioute Boat Launch

Visitors to the Tidioute Boat Launch can now enjoy free high-speed internet access made possible by a contribution from Warren Worx.

The organization provided full funding to Tidioute Borough for the installation of a Starlink satellite internet system at the launch site. In addition to covering the cost of the equipment, Warren Worx is also funding the monthly service charges, making it a long-term investment in the community’s connectivity.

The system is fully operational and open for public use. Whether checking the weather, uploading photos, or simply staying connected while enjoying a day on the river, the new service is expected to enhance the visitor experience.

“Tidioute Borough encourages the public to take advantage of the new Wi-Fi service while enjoying the boat launch and the surrounding area,” said Amanda Mesel, borough secretary.

Although exact speeds weren’t available, Mesel noted, “I know the coverage works the whole way around the playground area because I walked it.”

This ensures that not just boaters, but families and park visitors nearby can also benefit from the service.

There are no time limits or usage restrictions for users, making the Wi-Fi accessible to all without limitations.

Maintenance and upkeep of the system will be handled by the Tidioute Borough, and Mesel confirmed that steps are in place to ensure the service remains secure and reliable.

“Yes, I can monitor the usage and data on our account dashboard,” she said.

This project highlights a meaningful partnership between local government and regional organizations to support digital access in rural communities.
