After 45 years of dedicated service in anesthesiology, Dr. Niaz Ahmed is retiring from Warren General Hospital.
His last day will be Friday, July 18, marking the end of a career that spanned more than four decades at the same hospital.
Ahmed has been an anesthesiologist at Warren General Hospital for the last 45 years. He arrived in Warren in 1980 after completing his anesthesia residency in Cincinnati.
“We would love anyone in the community that has been touched by Dr. Ahmed to join us outside the main entrance door at WGH about 3 p.m. (Friday) to wish him well as he leaves for the very last time.” said Nancy Oday, anesthesiologist at Warren General Hospital.
Ahmed began his medical journey at Osmania Medical College in Hyderabad, India, followed by internships at Osmania General Hospital and Sarojini Devi Eye Hospital. He later completed his residency at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center and is certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology.
Throughout his long tenure at Warren General, Ahmed has been a steadfast presence, providing compassionate care and expert medical support in the operating room. His colleagues, patients, and the broader Warren community will surely feel his absence as he enters a well-deserved retirement.
