Warren Farmers Market to open Saturday

The Warren Farmers Market will open this weekend, running from 8 a.m. to noon every Saturday through October.
The Warren Farmers Market will open its 2025 season on Saturday.
The market will be held in the midtown parking lot from 8 am until noon every Saturday from June 14 through October.
Things start a little slowly as vegetable crops start to mature and more plants become available. Week after week, more and more different items will arrive as different fruits and vegetables mature. The season starts heavy on spring vegetables in June and ends with lots of apples, pumpkins and squash in October.
Many non-profits and non-food vendors show up over the season. The Penn State Master Gardeners and other local non-profits often come to show off their missions. On many weekends, an open-to-anyone jam session featuring “Old Time” fiddle tunes shows up to perform.
“The great thing about the Warren Farmer’s Market is the community that forms there,” said Jennifer Rossey, who organizes the market.
The Warren Farmers Market has been going on for either 48 or 51 years, depending on what source you use, according to Rossey. Vendors welcome back regular visitors. Regulars stop and chat. Annual visitors catch up with old friends. It’s more than a market, it’s a weekly gathering space.
More vendors are getting added regularly, but many are confirmed for the season already. Vendors include Fish-On Flies and Things (hand tied flies and other items); Antler Field Co. (soy candles, wax melts/warmers); Barb’d Wyre Creations (handmade soaps & candles, spices, resin products, dog chews) Tary Casey (essential oils, soaps, lotions, etc), Country Kept (handmade jewelry, wax dipped items, misc handmade items), Dusty Slate Boutique LLC (homemade skin care items, hand sewn clothing), Ferny Farms (hand made/crafted jewelry, clay items, paintings, macrame, etc), Friar Haus Greenhouse(flowers, plants, honey), Hideaway Creations, (waxed dipped stuffies, handmade items), Morton Farms (variety of produce, flowers), Passionately Natural Soap Co. (homemade soaps, candles and other items), Laura Roth (paint pour jewelry/canvas, diamond art), Rounds Hill Machine (soy candles, shadow boxes, jewelry), William Hummel (hand crafted wood and cement items), Schooners Gifts (sewn & crochet items, handmade jewelry), Small Meadows Farm (large variety of produce, flowers), and Trashidermy (art made with cast-off items). There will also be a variety of vendors from Warren Antiques.
Those interested in being a vendor can still rent space. There is a $50 charge for space for the season. Vendors can also rent a space for $5 for one Saturday and can pay $5 weekly until the $50 seasonal fee is covered. Baked goods at the market need to come from a licensed facility and that license must be provided. Some local churches and other facilities have licensed kitchens that they will allow to be rented or used to bake for the Farmers Market.
