Bear Lake man sentenced to state prison

A Bear Lake man who pleaded guilty to a felony charge of possession with intent to wdeliver has been sentenced to serve time in state prison.

Randy L. Eck of Bear Lake pleaded guilty in May to two of the six charges filed against him, with the other four charges not prosecuted. He was sentenced to 30 to 60 months in state prison, with credit for 259 days served, drug, alcohol and mental health evaluations and eligibility for Recidivism Risk Reduction Incentive and State Drug Treatment Program. He also was sentenced to pay a $100 fine after pleading guilty to a traffic citation.

– Damian Brown of Warren was sentenced to up to 90 days in the Warren County Jail, with credit for 83 days credit for time served as well as credit for a 90-day inpatient treatment after pleading guilty to a charge of harassment. Two felony charges were not prosecuted.

– Elijah T. Cummings of Warren was sentenced to six months restrictive intermediate punishment, including 10 days in the Warren County Jail, 20 days house arrest with SCRAM, attendance in an Alcohol Highway Safety School and Victim’s Impact Panel, 15 hours community service and a one-year driver’s license suspension and traffic fines after pleading guilty to DUI: high rate of alcohol – BAC .10-.16% – second offense and a traffic citation.

– Jason A. Dahlstrand of Erie, Pa., was sentenced to six month restrictive intermediate punishment to include 10 days in the Warren County Jail, a $500 fine, attendance in an Alcohol Highway Safety School and Victim’s Impact Panel, 15 hours community service and a 12-month driver’s license suspension after his Accelerated Rehabilitative Disposition was revoked. Dahlstrand pleaded guilty to DUI: high rate of alcohol – BAC .10-.16% and two traffic citations.

– Edward E. Edwards of Warren was sentenced to 153 days to two years and one day in the Warren County Jail, with immediate eligibility for parole, mental health treatment, a no-contact order and 40 hours of community service after pleading guilty to third-degree felony criminal trespass.

– Scottlynn R. Hackley of Sugar Grove was sentenced on two separate dockets. On the first, Hackley pleaded guilty to possession of a controlled substance and was sentenced to one year probation, counting 40 days already served, drug and alcohol treatment, mental health treatment and 20 hours community service. On a second docket, Hackley pleaded guilty to possession of a controlled substance and was sentenced to one year probation to run consecutively with the first docket and 20 additional hours of community service.

– Jeremiah G. Lyon of Clarendon was sentenced to six months restrictive intermediate punishment to include 72 hours in the Warren County Jail, a $1,000 fine, attendance in an Alcohol Highway Safety School and Victim’s Impact Panel, 15 hours community service and a 12-month driver’s license suspension after pleading guilty to DUI/BAC .16% and greater – second offense. He was sentenced to one year probation to run consecutively and 20 hours community service after pleading guilty to disorderly conduct and a traffic fine.

– Latrisha S. McCarty of Clymer was sentenced to six months restrictive intermediate punishment that includes 60 days in the Warren County Jail, with credit for 60 days time served and immediate eligibility for parole, a $1,000 fine, attendance in an Alcohol Highway Safety School and Victim’s Impact Panel, 15 hours community service and a 12-month driver’s license suspension after pleading guilty to DUI alcohol/controlled substance – Schedule 2 or 3 – first offense. McCarty also pleaded guilty to possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a controlled substance and a traffic citation, with the rest of her sentence including two years of probation to run consecutively, 40 hours community service and traffic fines.

– Jason M. Pheiff was sentenced to six months restrictive intermediate punishment that includes 10 days in the Warren County Jail and 20 days house arrest with SCRAM, a drug and alcohol evaluation, a $1,000 fine, attendance in an Alcohol Highway Safety School and Victim’s Impact Panel, 15 hours community service and a 12-month driver’s license suspension after pleading guilty to DUI: controlled substances – impaired ability – first offense.

– Richard E. Rodgers of Warren was sentenced to six months restricted intermediate punishment that includes 72 hours in the Warren County Jail, a $1,000 fine, attendance in an Alcohol Highway Safety School and Victim’s Impact Panel, 15 hours community service, a 12-month driver’s license suspension and a traffic fine after pleading guilty to DUI: highest rate of alcohol (BAC .16% or higher) – second offense and a traffic infraction.

– Patrick L. Smith was sentenced to six months restrictive intermediate punishment that includes 72 hours in the Warren County Jail, a $1,000 fine, attendance in an Alcohol Highway Safety School and Victim’s Impact Panel, 15 hours community service, a 12-month driver’s license suspension and a traffic fine after pleading guilty to DUI: highest rate of alcohol – first offense, and a traffic citation.

– Edward Swartwood was sentenced to five years restrictive intermediate punishment, including 30 days in the Warren County Jail and 60 days house arrest with SCRAM, a $1,500 fine, UIO, 50 hours community service and an 18-month driver’s license suspension after pleading guilty to DUI: highest rate of alcohol (BAC .16% or higher) – second offense.

A bench warrant was issued for Jada L. Coursey of Warren. Coursey had previously pleaded guilty to a charge of criminal use of a communication facility, possession with intent to deliver and possession of drug paraphernalia. Not prosecuted were three counts of dealing in the proceeds of unlawful activities, three counts of possession with intent to deliver, two counts of criminal use of a communications facility, four counts of possession of a controlled substance and two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia.
