“We had 13 people student-wise in person.” Walters said about the t-shirt designs, which would be used for next school year as a combining of schools and logos. “We started off by seeing what are the logos used by each of the schools and then we also came up with a list of keywords that describe the logos.”

Eric Mineweaser is pictured talking about the CLASS Act nominees from Warren County School District high schools.

They will soon have a t-shirt sale that the buildings can get to purchase. They will keep several of the logos and if any clubs or groups that want to use them, for any t-shirts for the teams, they can.

In other business, Amy O’Donnell presented the district’s selection as a recipient of the MWEE School of Excellence Award. The Meaningful Watershed Educational Experience award honors schools that promote hands-on, standards-based environmental learning. The district’s integration of environmental education into its curriculum stood out on the state level.

Career and technical education students were celebrated for their outstanding performances at recent state competitions. Jim Evers recognized the following: FBLA state medalists: Jesse Horning, TJ McAuley, Marrissa Gourley; and SkillsUSA state medalists: Addyson Hannold, Gracie Tomassoni, Zerrick Jackman. Advisers include Mike Noe, Cathy Cummings, Fred Backhus, and IT from Scott Burroughs.

Eric Mineweaser and building principals presented the 2024-2025 C.L.A.S.S. Act nominees, students chosen for their academic achievement, leadership, and service. Honored students are:

Eisenhower High School – Callan Gigliotti, Logan Degnan, Cali Chapman, presented by Jason Markiewicz;

Sheffield High School nominees will be honored at the May 19 Curriculum, Instruction & Technology Committee Meeting due to a scheduling conflict.

“This isn’t just about academics and athletics, this is about a lot more things. They’re judged on effort, character, how they promote citizenship, demonstrate responsibility, respect to their peers and teachers and also are a positive influence in the community and in the school community as well.” Mineweaser said
