Benefit for city woman is this Sunday

A benefit will be held from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Warren Eagles Club for Amber Hill, a city resident who has been diagnosed with small fiber neuropathy.

The benefit is open to the public and children are allowed since the benefit won’t be in the bar area.

The benefit, hosted by the Warren Eagles, aims to raise financial support for Hill, who has been facing a serious health crisis. On Feb. 4, Mrs. Hill awoke in severe pain and has been unable to walk since that day. Despite undergoing numerous tests and a biopsy on March 10, it was discovered she has small fiber neuropathy. The condition is rare and it affects everything, resulting in Hill being confined to a wheelchair.

“She has to see more doctors. This is lifelong and once you have it, you always have it.” says Karen Hill, Hill’s mother-in-law. “It’s taken a real toll on the family, with my son Corey has been able to work only minimal hours for the past three months.”

The day of the benefit holds special significance, as it is also Amber Hill’s birthday — giving the community even more reason to come out and show their love and encouragement.

The event will feature a pulled pork meal that includes a beverage for $12, a Chinese auction with a variety of donated items, and live music performed by Vinny and The Mudflaps.

“Thanks to the generous donations from businesses and individuals, we’ll be able to provide crucial financial support to Amber and her family during this very difficult time,” said the committee for Amber Hill’s Benefit. “We appreciate everyone’s support and encourage all to come out, enjoy some good food, good music, and help make a difference.”

In addition to participating in the auction and enjoying the meal and music, monetary donations are also welcomed. All proceeds from the event will go directly to Amber and her husband, Corey Hill, to help cover medical expenses and ongoing needs.

Starting at $3.50/week.
