Sentencing Court held Friday
A Warren man has been sentenced to two years restrictive intermediate punishment by Judge Maureen Skerda during a recently held sentencing court.
Christopher J. Frederick of Warren had been charged Aug. 8, 2024, by Warren police with strangulation, a second-degree felony, simple assault and disorderly conduct from an incident that occurred on Aug. 7 in Warren. Frederick pleaded guilty to simple assault and terroristic threats with intent to terrorize others while the other charges were not prosecuted. For his guilty plea of simple assault, Frederick was sentenced to pay a $500 fine, two years restrictive intermediate punishment that includes seven months in the Warren County Jail, counting 205 days time served, ordered to undergo mental health treatment, a drug and alcohol evaluation and 40 hours community service. Frederick was also sentenced to two years restrictive intermediate punishment with seven months in the Warren County Jail for his guilty plea for terroristic threats. The sentences run consecutively.
Sentences announced Friday include:
– Christopher E. Battko of Pittsfield was sentenced to pay a $2,500 fine, one year restrictive intermediate punishment to include 90 days in the Warren County Jail and a one-year license suspension after pleading guilty to driving while operating privileges suspended/revoked.
– Martin Brady was sentenced to a $300 fine, six months probation, counting four days time served, ordered to attend an Alcohol Highway Safety School, Victims Impact Panel, intensive outpatient program, 45 hours community service and $637.38 and $1,280.50 in restitution. Brady pleaded guilty to DUI – first offense, immediate notice of accident to police and careless driving – serious bodily injury. He was sentenced to pay fines for the traffic infractions.
-Vincent C. Brown Jr. of Warren was sentenced to a $500 fine, $480.47 in restitution to Walmart, banned from the store, 18 months probation, 75 hours community service and mental health treatment after pleading guilty to retail theft.
– James P. Ciprich Jr. of Warren was sentenced to $1,000 fine, 12-month license suspension, six months restrictive intermediate punishment to include 72 hours in the Warren County Jail and counting 36 days time served, attendance in an Alcohol Highway Safety School and Victims Impact Panel, 15 hours community service and drug and alcohol treatment for his guilty plea to a charge of DUI: highest rate of alcohol – first offense. He was sentenced to another 24 months probation after pleading guilty to recklessly endangering the welfare of another person and fines for a traffic infraction.
– Zaide M. Crawford of Titusville was sentenced to a $500 fine, $5,282.77 restitution, 24 months probation, 100 hours of community service and a no-contact order after pleading guilty to simple assault. A harassment charge was not prosecuted.
– Jonathan D. Harris of Irvine was sentenced to a $1,000 fine, 12-month driver’s license suspension, six months restrictive intermediate punishment to include 72 hours in the Warren County Jail with credit for 72 hours time already served, attendance in an Alcohol Highway Safety School and Victims Impact Panel, drug and alcohol treatment and 15 hours community service for his guilty plea to DUI: highest rate of alcohol – first offense as well as fines for three traffic citations. On a second docket, Harris was sentenced to a $1,500 fine, five years restrictive intermediate punishment to include 76 days in the Warren County Jail with credit for 76 days already served as well as 30 days with a handheld monitor; attendance in an Alcohol Highway Safety School and Victims Impact Panel, drug and alcohol treatment and 30 hours community service to satisfy a guilty plea of DUI: highest rate of alcohol – second offense. He was also sentenced to fines for two traffic citations.
– Quinn O. Harvey of Erie, was sentenced to a $350 fine, a year probation, 30 hours community service and counseling after pleading guilty to neglect of animals – sustenance/water. Charges of aggravated cruelty to animals, a third-degree felony, and cruelty to animals were not prosecuted.
– Melissa Smith of Erie was sentenced to a $300 fine and a year probation after pleading guilty to neglect of animals – sustenance/water. Charges of aggravated cruelty to animals, a third-degree felony, and cruelty to animals were not prosecuted.
– Robert E. Little of Corry was sentenced to a $1,000 fine, 12-month driver’s license suspension, six months restrictive intermediate punishment to include 30 days in the Warren County Jail and 60 days with a handheld monitor, attendance of an Alcohol Highway Safety School and Victims Impact Panel, 15 hours community service and drug and alcohol treatment after his accelerated rehabilitative disposition was revoked. Little pleaded guilty to DUI: highest rate of alcohol – first offense. He was also fined for a guilty plea to a traffic offense.
– Donald K. Messenheimer of Youngsville was sentenced to a $550 fine, 24 months probation, a mental health evaluation and 100 hours of community service for his guilty plea to third-degree felony criminal trespass. He was also sentenced to six months probation to run concurrently after pleading guilty to third-degree misdemeanor theft by unlawful taking, 50 hours community service and a no-contact order.
– Angelique Nicole Ortiz of Jamestown was sentenced to pay a $500 fine and $640.44 in restitution to Wal-Mart, 12 months probation, 50 hours community service and attendance in a COG program after pleading guilty to retail theft.
– Karen Peer of Carbondale was sentenced to a $1,000 fine, 12 month driver’s license suspension, six months restrictive intermediate punishment to include 32 days in the Warren County Jail counting 32 days time served and 58 days house arrest with a SCRAM monitor; attendance in an Alcohol Highway Safety School and Victims Impact Panel, 15 hours community service and a drug and alcohol treatment regimen.
– Katie L. Prettyman of Warren was sentenced to a $1,000 fine, 12-month driver’s license suspension, three to six months in the Warren County Jail counting seven days time served, attendance in an Alcohol Highway Safety School and Victims Impact Panel, 15 hours community service and a drug and alcohol evaluation after pleading guilty to DUI: highest rate of alcohol. She was also fined for pleading guilty to a traffic infraction. On a second docket, Prettyman was sentenced to pay a $1,500 fine, an 18 month driver’s license suspension, five years of restrictive intermediate punishment to include 30 days in the Warren County Jail to run consecutively with her first docket as well as another 60 days house arrest with SCRAM monitoring, attendance in an Alcohol Highway Safety School and Victims Impact Panel, 30 hours community service and drug and alcohol evaluations to satisfy a guilty plea to DUI: highest rate of alcohol – second offense as well as fines for four additional traffic infractions.
– Isak Riel of Warren was sentenced to pay a $1,000 fine, 12 month driver’s license suspension, between 72 hours and six months in the Warren County Jail, attendance in an Alcohol Highway Safety School and Victims Impact Panel, drug and alcohol treatment and 15 hours of community service after pleading guilty to DUI – controlled substances, Schedule 1 – first offense. He was also fined after pleading guilty to four traffic offenses.
