The Warren County College and Career Fair was held at the Warren County School District Central Office. Organized by the Warren Forest Higher Education Council in partnership with the Warren County School District, the event gave students an opportunity to meet with more than 50 representatives from colleges and local employers.
Students from Warren Area High School, Eisenhower, Sheffield, Youngsville, Tidioute Charter, and East and West Forest high schools were bused to the event, where they could explore future education and career options.
Local employers were invited to participate, providing students with information not only about continuing education but also about entering the workforce directly after graduation.
Angela Bigelow, assistant director of the Warren Forest Higher Education Council, emphasized the importance of offering a variety of options to the students.

“We have kids in our county who are interested in entering the workforce after high school, and we wanted to have something for those kids as well,” Bigelow said. “It was a good variety, and I hope all the kids left with useful information to help them make the choices that are right for their futures.”
In addition to the career fair, the council coordinated with the Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency to bring Amy Sloan to the Central Office, where she gave a presentation to students and families on making college more affordable. Mark King of the Community Foundation of Warren County also spoke to families, educating them about local scholarship opportunities available through the foundation. The presentation saw almost 70 attendees, highlighting the growing interest in finding financial solutions for higher education.
The Warren Forest Higher Education Council has several upcoming events to further assist students and families in navigating the path to higher education.
