Katie Penley and Sharey Sveda presented a donation to the Allegheny Valley Veterans Center from the annual Support Our Veterans Golf Scramble in June at Jackson Valley Golf Course.

This was the eighth year of the scramble.

“The Allegheny Valley Veterans Center (AVVC) would like to thank Katie and Sharey for their generous donation to the center. The donation will go a long way in helping build the women/children and family rooms section the center is working on in the facility,” said Tom Eaton AVVC board president.

Over the last eight years, Penley and Sveda have raised more than $25,000 for various Warren County support organizations through the Support Our Veterans golf scramble.

The Allegheny Valley Veterans Center is supportive housing for homeless veterans in Clarendon. The center offers supportive housing for homeless veterans and works to provide a full continuum of support to homeless, unstably housed, and low-income veterans.

Allegheny Valley Veterans Center participants will receive case management to assist them with developing goals to transition from the AVVC into permanent housing. The center is located in Clarendon and serves veterans in Warren, Potter, Elk, Forest, McKean, Crawford, Venango, and Erie counties.

The AVVC accepts donations of clothing, furniture, toiletries, and other essential items veterans need daily. Donations can be dropped off at the Allegheny Valley Veterans Center, 100 N. Main St., Clarendon, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Donate money through the donation tab at avvc.us.

Starting at $2.99/week.
