Mum sale benefits efforts to end Alzheimer’s

Submitted Photo Fall fundraising brings mums for Mamma’s Forget Me Nots, one of the 28 teams participating in the upcoming Warren Walk to End Alzheimer’s.

With the Warren Walk to End Alzheimer’s coming up at the end of the month, Carol Stowe and her team, “Mamma’s Forget Me Nots,” are holding one more fundraiser to reach their goal of $2,000.

Stowe is holding a pop-up plant sale with mums at 101 N. Main St. in Russell. The 9-inch mums, which cost $15, are from J&B Country Gardens and come in multiple colors.

Stowe along with Dorinda Backstrom, Ron Pazderski, and Vicki Anthony were recently recognized by the Walk to End Alzheimer’s as part of the Champions Club for her fundraising efforts. They have all raised over $500.

Twenty-eight teams and 75 individuals are registered to attend Sept. 28 at Betts Park for the annual Walk to End Alzheimer’s.

Teams and individuals can still register to participate in the walk, and donations are always welcome to help end Alzheimer’s.

If you have questions about the Walk to End Alzheimer’s or the Alzheimer’s Association, please contact Amber Beason, walk manager, at anbeason@alz.org or 814-602-0955.

Starting at $2.99/week.
