Friday marks payment deadline to avoid tax sale

Warren County’s upset tax sale is set for next Monday at 1 p.m.

Own a property on the list and want to dodge that sale? Today is your deadline to pay.

“We currently have 198 properties on the list, which will be updated on the website periodically throughout the day as people pay,” Phil Gilbert, Tax Claim director, said.

Notable properties on the list as of Friday morning include the HR Block building at 229 Pennsylvania Ave. W. as well as the former Cambridge location at 706 Pennsylvania Ave. W.

Gilbert said that the deadline to pay is Friday at 4 p.m. and that the list is a little larger than normal.

He said payments can be made online at the county website – warrencountypa.gov – or in the office at the courthouse via cashier’s check, money order or cash.

“This sale is for all back taxes and costs, and any municipal liens submitted to me,” he said. “Buyers would be responsible for any liens or judgements against the property.”

Starting at $3.50/week.
