Eagle Scout project to benefit JDFC
An Eagle Scout project has provided a little library and two benches for the Jefferson DeFrees Family Center.
Peyton Reist, a 15-year-old in BSA Troop 13, recently completed the project.
According to JDFC Childcare Director Jennifer Madigan, Reist and a crew designed, built installed the library and benches.
“The initial books in the library were some of Peyton’s childhood favorites,” she said.
Madigan said that the project also included removing the shrubs that were once in front of the JDFC on Second Avenue.
“Hard work and life lessons were learned all around,” she said. “(Reist) is hopeful kids and families will get enjoyment from using the library and the benches.”
