Blight panel talks Tidioute properties

Two problem properties in Tidioute Borough were before the county’s blight panel Thursday.

The county’s Blighted Property Review Committee discussed the properties at 277 Main St. and 5 Scott St.

Online county assessment records show that the properties are owned by “FKU LLC” but committee chair Paul Pascuzzi said that’s Nathaniel Weaver’s company “as admitted by him.” He was not served notice of Thursday’s meeting.

The Main St. property, according to information provided by the borough, has rotted fascia, flaking and peeling paint, a missing window as well as a path for weather and animals to gain access to the structure.

At Scott St., the borough alleges that the rear main beam under the house is rotted in half and that here are holes in the structure that need repaired.

Tidioute Borough Councilmember Cindy Paulmier told the committee that the property owner was at the borough meeting this week. She said Weaver told council that he was planning to renovate the structures and bring ex-convicts and drug people for rehab in the community.

She said Weaver wants to do anything he can to upset the community “and he’s doing a very good job.”

The committee approved motions to formally invite Weaver to the September meeting.

Paulmier said the borough is looking for “any support we can get. He’s not going to change. He thrives on this. Unfortunately… individuals and the community are suffering.

“We don’t know what else to do.”

Starting at $2.99/week.
