Art, animals and friends ‘highlight’ of county fair

Shay Reilly with her Halloween decor, which she entered in the Warren County Fair. This piece earned her a second-place ribbon.

Shay Reilly is a 14-year-old from Youngsville who enters both animals and art at the Warren County Fair every year.

Her artistic skills and creativity are displayed in the exhibition buildings, showcasing her painting and decor designs.

In addition to her artistic entries, Reilly brought six goats to the fair this year, which she will show, representing her 4-H club. She is a member of the Multi-species club, which includes youth members who raise sheep, goats, and swine.

“I enjoy creativity, and it comes easy to me; people ask where I get ideas for my creations, and I don’t know, it just comes to me,” said Reilly.

She also said, “I love fair week; seeing all my friends is probably the highlight.”

In addition to participating in the fair, she is an avid bowler and was a member of the Youngsville High School junior varsity Envirothon team, which took first place in the JV division.
