Woman faces charges after firearm incident
A Clarendon woman faces charges after firing a 9 mm handgun into the wall of a garage at a Chapman Dam Road residence during a domestic dispute.
Jessica L. O’Neil, 43, faces charges including terroristic threats, simple assault, recklessly endangering another person and discharging a firearm into an occupied structure in the wake of the Saturday incident.
Warren-based Pennsylvania State Police allege in an affidavit of probable cause that troopers were dispatched to a Chapman Dam Road address for a report of a “domestic dispute with a firearm being discharged.”
A man at the scene reported that “his current girlfriend came to the residence when O’Neil pulled in behind her.”
A verbal dispute occurred and the man told police that O’Neil “had went to her vehicle and retrieved a 9 mm handgun and began loading a magazine and stated she was going to shoot his dogs.”
He then reported to police that O’Neil allegedly “discharged the firearm into the building” and then left the residence.
Troopers say they found “multiple live round 9 mm ammunition” in the driveway and garage at the residence as well as a spent casing.
“An entry and exit hole were observed in the side of the garage,” the affidavit states.
Troopers subsequently interviewed O’Neil, per the affidavit.
She allegedly told troopers that she had gone to the residence and observed the man with his girlfriend.
She acknowledged that the argument ensued and that she “discharged the firearm into the side of the garage before she left the residence.”
O’Neil then allegedly told troopers that she went to Chapman State Park where “she had thrown the firearm into the woods.”
Online court records show that O’Neil is being held in the county jail on $50,000 bail and a preliminary hearing is scheduled for today.
