A Sheffield High School graduate has been selected as Pennsylvania General Energy’s “Teen of the year.”
The award, presented to Chase Kyler, also comes with a $5,000 scholarship.
“Throughout the school year for 12 weeks, teens were selected weekly and honored as ‘Teen of the Week’ with recognition,” Rachel Anderson, HR & Corporate Giving Committee Member for PGE said.
“At the end of the program, one teen was ultimately selected for the “Teen of the Year,” she added. “After much deliberation by PGE committee representatives, Chase was selected for this award for not only his excellence in academics and athletics, but his commitment to the community and hard work.
“While being an outstanding student, he also volunteers for Cherry Grove Fire Department, works two jobs, and was an active Eagle Scout and Captain of the Sheffield Wrestling team.”
Kyler plans to attend Thiel College in the fall to study exercise science.
