Tax sale deadline approaching

This year’s version of the county’s property upset tax sale isn’t until September.

But the deadline to avoid the first list of taxes set to go to that sale is coming up this week.

The sale is currently set for Sept. 30 at the Warren County Courthouse.

“In order to not be listed in the paper, taxes need to be paid in full,” Phil Gilbert, director of the Tax Claim Bureau, “or an agreement signed by June 30 at 4 p.m.”

He explained that the agreement means paying 25 percent of the tax year that exposes a property to the sale. In the case of the sale this fall, that’s 2022s tax bill.

Balances can be found online at https://tax.gss-pa.com/Warren/cc and Gilbert said people can search using name, control number or map number for their parcel. Payments can also be made through that platform.

Payments can also be made in person at the courthouse via check, money order, cash or a credit card. The Bureau won’t take payments over the phone.

“Additional fees are applied on July 1,” Gilbert said. “These can be avoided if paid before then.”

Starting at $3.50/week.
