Meeting Needs: Non-profits receive donations from Warren Gives

That's the amount of money given to the organizations that participate in this year's edition of Warren Gives.
A check presentation event was Wednesday night at the Conewango Club.
It was a time for the organizations to get their check but also a celebration of both the community that gave to support the organizations and the work that the non-profits that make up Warren Gives do in this community.
Community Foundation Executive Director Mark King called it a "time to come together and celebrate" that there are "so many people out there doing good work in the community."
Referencing that total raised, which includes donations and $75,000 in match dollars, King called it a "tremendous outpouring of support."
The event started with 87 organizations and $25,000 in match dollars. This year, there were 107 organizations and $75,000 in match.
He stressed that the event wouldn't be the success it is without the work of those nonprofits that participate.
"I can't thank all of the organizations enough for all the hard work," King said. "You all know how much does really go into it. It takes work but it pays off."
King pointed out, though, that Warren Gives does not capture "all of the non-profit charitable causes doing great work in Warren County."
The organization that raised the money this year was the Kinzua Wrestling Club.
Dennis Johnson with that group said they reached out to wrestlers and wrestlers' families.
The organization is three years old.
"We wanted to have a youth development mission," Johnson said. "We are a youth development center."
He stressed that they don't -- and won't -- charge youth or caregivers that take advantage of their programs.
King said that the Kinzua Wrestling Club also won the investive for increasing its out-of-state donations by over $6,000.
Paws Along The River won an incentive prize as the organization with the most new donors year-over-year – 156.
Miracle Mountain Ranch received donations from the most states -- 30 -- while Hospice of Warren County had the highest donation total at 328.
Each organization was given a donor report in addition to their check.
King's message to the organizations is clear: "Set aspirational goals for your organization in Warren Gives and for your organizations delivery on mission.
"We live in a fantastic community who will support great organizations with great missions delivering great results."
