Commissioners receive update on reassessment

Data collection for the ongoing county property tax reassessment is about 75 percent complete.

The Warren County Commissioners received an update on the project during Monday’s work session.

Chief Assessor Brian Bull said seventy five percent of the total data collection is complete as of June 3.

That includes 79 percent of improved parcels, or those with structures or residences.

Additionally, 1,198 properties have been inaccessible to assessors while 263 people have refused to participate.

“As time allows, we are doing some spot checks on their work so far,” Bull said. “Everything we’ve looked at is looking good. We’re happy with that.”

Property owners for properties that were inaccessible will be contacted via a letter.

Commissioner Tricia Durbin said there has not been “a lot of feedback from the community” during this process.

Starting at $2.99/week.
