WCVB gives event organizers marketing dollars

Promoting Warren County takes many forms.

It took the form of advertising dollars for 16 events on Wednesday courtesy of the Warren County Visitors Bureau.

The WCVB held its “Event Planner Party” on Wednesday, which brought event organizers together with tourism officials.

The hook was $500 in advertising dollars for each of the event organizers.

WCVB Executive Director Casey Ferry said they selected “bigger events as well as smaller ones.

“You all mean a lot to us,” she told the organizers, telling them they “can get the word out and bring people here.”

The list of selected events includes Warren County Pride, Fourth of July, Flying W Rodeo, Music on the Mountain, Kinzua Heritage, Warren County Fair, Hickory Creek Rodeo, Wild Wind, Pa. State Championship Fishing Tournament, Winterfest, Tango, Tidioute Fun Days, Historical Society Fashion Flaunt, Farmer’s Market, Lander Sportsman’s Show and the Brokenstraw Cons. & Fishing Show.

Ferry says their data shows that events and festivals are the second most cited reason why people visit Warren County behind outdoor recreation.

She said that it’s worth the WCVB’s effort to promote these events.

“You make our job fun,” said.

Each group can be reimbursed up to $500 for advertising expenses with one stipulation – the money needs to be spent outside of Warren County.

“That’s our goal,” Ferry said. “(It) needs to bring people in. We want to give you the money.

“You know your audience better than we do.”
