Warren Gives breaks records Wednesday

The final total from Warren Gives will be released today. But it’s clear that a host of records were set this year.

The annual, online day of giving to county non-profits was held Wednesday.

At the top of the record list is the total — with time remaining Wednesday funds raised crossed $900,000.

The previous record was last year when the total was $802,199.

Another record can be found in the number of states where donations originated.

That record fell when a donation came from a 45th state.

“In the final hour last night, we received donations from Louisiana, Massachusetts, Mississippi, and Oregon,” organizers said on Facebook. “With those donations, we received donations from 49 of the 50 states, shattering our previous record. Delaware was our lone missing state.

“Incredible nationwide support for our community. Fifty of 50 will happen in 2025.”

More records?

By 8 p.m., the 1,901 individual donors set a record while the Kinzua Wrestling Club had set a single-event record for donations received by an organization. They were over $69,000 as of 6 p.m.

The prior record was just shy of $58,000.

With a couple hours to go, the Kinzua Wrestling Club, Miracle Mountain Ranch, Struthers Library Theatre, Warren Public Library and Hospice of Warren County.

This year’s event also crossed the $6 million milestone in the history of the event.

A total of 107 organizations participated Wednesday.
