Warren County is set to be showcased on Saturday.
The Warren County Visitors Bureau's first "Warren County Showcase" event is set for Saturday at the WCVB facility in Starbrick.
It will bring food trucks, vendors and exhibits to the WCVB's Starbrick location – 22045 US 6 – from 1 a.m. to 5 p.m.
"This festival is a celebration of Warren County and our wide variety of opportunities that are right outside our door," WCVB Executive Director Casey Ferry said. "Come and experience much of what Warren County has to offer, all in one place."
Food trucks set to participate include Dad's, Kinzua Kookie Doe, Sarah's Kettle Corn and Tabouli Street Eatz while Alyssa Wismar will provide live music.
Here's the list of vendors and exhibitors set to participate: Allegheny Site Management, ANF, Brokenstraw Valley Winery, Chapman State Park, Kinzua Country Tango, Lander VFD Sportsman's Bash, Music on the Mountain, Passionately Natural, Tidioute Fun Days, Trails at Jakes Rocks, PA State Championship Fishing Tournament, US Army Corps of Engineers/Kinzua Dam, Warren County Chamber of Business & Industry, Warren County Fair , Warren County Farmers Market, Warren County 4th of July Celebration, Warren County Historical Society, Warren County Pride, Warren County YMCA, Wilder Museum of Warren County History and Winterfest.
"Our job, that we are honored to have, is to promote Warren County," Ferry said. "There are things to do, places to see, and adventures to be had that you might not know. I have lived here most of my life and I learn something new all the time. We want people to come to this showcase and say, 'Wow! There really is a lot to do here and a lot to experience! Community pride goes a long way in promoting the area to outsiders. We're proud of our blessings here and want to showcase them."
The event has been a couple years in the making, growing out of the WCVB's tradition of providing advertising dollars to local events. That grew into last year's event fair.
"We thought we should expand that to not only include the events and festivals, but also other amenities, attractions, organizations, and the like that make Warren County so great," Ferry said. "We had been mulling it over since last spring, and when Samantha Free-Haswah (Tabouli and Kinzua Kookie Doe) approached us this winter about doing something in conjunction with food trucks, I immediately thought it would fit perfectly with our wanting to get bigger and better with this event, and the Warren County Showcase was born.
“Although Warren County is a bunch of small towns, we are fortunate enough to have some very unique and tasty food trucks. We are excited to be part of an event highlighting what Warren has to offer," Free-Haswah explained.
"Warren County is not only special because of its beautiful landscapes, historical buildings, and festivities," WCVB Administrative Assistant Lisa Card said. "It’s the people of Warren County that make it special. The people are friendly, always help a neighbor in need, and come together for the better of their communities."
Ferry acknowledged that space on their property is limited but asked anyone looking to exhibit to email info@wcvb.net or call (814)726-1222.
"It's our first year, so we ask for grace as we navigate this new territory," Ferry said. "It's going to be great, I'm sure, but it will be a learning experience and a stepping stone for future events. Warren County has a very bright future, and we love being a part of the ride."
