Cricket Branstrom, a senior at Eisenhower Middle-Senior High School, will graduate on June 7.

She will spend the summer with her friends and family and then fly to Italy in August to fulfill her dream of studying abroad.

Marist College is located in Poughkeepsie, New York. Cricket will attend Marist’s study abroad program in Florence, Italy, partnered with Lorenzo d’Medici Institute. She plans to major in Conservation Studies, focusing on textile and clothing restoration, and minor in Art History.

Cricket has enjoyed creating art since she was three years old, according to her mom, Carilee Branstrom.

“She was always drawing and creating stories to accompany her art,” Carilee Branstrom said.

Cricket started sewing at eight and learned to crochet a few years ago.

Cricket’s musical talent is as impressive as her artistic skills. She has been honing her piano skills for eleven years and currently holds the prestigious position of President at the Junior Philharmonic, a testament to her leadership and dedication to music.

Accomplishments in school include being named best in show at this year’s high school art show on student council, a class officer, and the National Honor Society,

While Cricket is excited and ready to leave on her adventure, her family will surely miss her.

“It’s a roller coaster of emotions. We are so immensely proud, sad, but the pride we have in how hard she has worked and her determination is huge,” Carilee Branstrom said.

Plans to visit Cricket in Florence have already been made.

After finishing her education, Cricket aims to “be a part of fashion; it is what I love.”
