Regional gas price spikes 10 cents

A combination of increased demand and higher oil prices has caused a regional 10 cent spike in the price of gas.

That’s according to AAA East Central’s Gas Price Report, which shows the regional price at $3.83 and the price in Warren at $3.88.

The national average also rose six cents to $3.59.

The combination of increased demand and higher oil prices was accompanied with a celine in gasoline stocks.

“Higher demand and rising oil prices will likely nudge pump prices higher,” the report detailed.

International concerns had a hand in driving the price of oil up.

“Renewed Ukrainian attacks on Russia’s oil infrastructure and increasing tension in the Middle East are causing oil prices to spike even though (the Energy Information Administration) reported an increase of 3.2 million barrels from the previous week,” the report explained.

According to the report, crude oil inventories are about two percent below the five-year average for thai time of year.
