Erin Willman secures spot on General Election ballot for state representative

Erin Willman

There will be two names on the ballot for state representative in Warren County this fall.

Kathy Rapp was unopposed during last week’s primary election, receiving 3,511 votes out of the 4,010 total Republican votes.

Currently the Republican chair of the House Health Committee, Rapp will be seeking her 11th two-year term representing the 65th District, which includes all of Warren and Forest counties as well as part of Crawford County.

She hasn’t been challenged in her own party or by the Democrats for several election cycles.

She will, however, have a challenger this time.

Warren businesswoman Erin Willman launched a write-in campaign a couple weeks before the primary and, according to Warren County Elections Director Krystle Ransom, Willman received sufficient support to be on the ballot for the General Election.

Just shy of 2,000 county Democrats voted last Tuesday and 495 wrote in Willman.

“There was a steady flow of citizens from Democrats and Republicans alike, coming out to write in Erin Willman for PA Representative for the 65th District,” Doug Hearn, Willman’s campaign chair, said. “It was encouraging to witness people coming out to vote, emphasizing its importance. People are excited and happy to fulfill their civic duty.”

Willman said he campaign “represents a new generation of leadership, offering fresh ideas and perspectives to address the evolving needs of the 65th Legislative District.”

“My commitment to inclusivity and community engagement ensures that all voices are heard and considered in the legislative process, promising a more responsive and representative government for constituents in the district,” she added.
