Council to meet on zoning ordinance

The last opportunity for interested residents to comment on the city’s new zoning ordinance is set for Monday.

Warren City Council will be holding a work session at 6 p.m. Monday night to review the ordinance prior to potential adoption at the April meeting later in the month.

“What we’re looking for is the final input before council takes (action),” Director of Codes and Planning Randy Rossey said. “We’re looking for public opinion.”

Participation in the session will be available in person at the city building as well as via Zoom.

Rossey said that this is likely the “last opportunity” for feedback to be provided.

“We want to make sure everybody” is heard, he added.

To date, the most notable public feedback on the proposal has centered on new regulations regarding short-term rentals, like Airbnbs and VRBOs.

Other substantial changes are the creation of a mixed use residential and commercial district along Market St and Conewango Ave., design guideline areas in the downtown and expanded single-family residential on the north side of the city.

Starting at $3.50/week.
