Glade Township acknowledges river wall problems

Times Observer photo by Daniella Langianese Chairman Kenneth “Rusty” Zigler, Vice Chair Karen Whitemore and Duane Schmander meet for the monthly Glade Township Supervisors Meeting.

GLADE TOWNSHIP — Problems with a retaining wall will have to wait another month.

Supervisors tabled work on the Dean Hua river wall. “The river wall’s retaining wall, off Hemlock, recollapsed and a permit has been applied for,” confirmed Chairman Kenneth “Rusty” Zigler.

In other business, the group heard from a representative, Eric Pearson of Calvert-Pearson Insurance pertaining to the township insurance renewal.

Pearson produced the supervisors with paperwork on two different insurance plans; the Township’s current carrier EMS Insurance and a new bid from McKey Risk.

After Pearson’s presentation the supervisors passed a motion to remain with EMS Insurance.

Signatures were updated on appropriate documentation to add Duane Schmander as a signature on pertinent accounts concerning the township.

Concerning old business, LERTA, the 2023 audit has been completed and the township is just waiting on field work before the reports are produced, according to Zigler.

In additional news, Zigler announced that the 2024 Internal plow truck will be delivered to the township soon.
