Blight panel talks Tidioute, Conewango Avenue properties

One property was declared blighted while another was sent back to township officials during the Warren County Blighted Property Review Committee’s Thursday meeting.

The property deemed blighted is located at 59 Grant St. in Tidioute Borough.

There have been some issues communicating with the owners, who live in New Jersey.

“That’s the problem when you have absentee owners,” Committee chair Paul Pascuzzi said.

The property at 3481 Conewango Ave. in Glade Township was kicked back to township officials for monitoring in the wake of apparent progress.

Citing a note from the new owner, Pascuzzi said that property cleanup is nearly done, electric and gas are on and that the kitchen and bathroom will be completed soon.

“It looks like she’s making progress to make this house habitable,” Pascuzzi said.

He suggested that the property be kicked back to the township for monitoring.

“They’re a lot closer to it than we are,” Committee member Rick Brewster said.

“It’s good that someone has taken this,” Pascuzzi said. “It may not have been at least renovated if it wasn’t for the ordinance that we do have. Sometimes that kick starts going the right direction.”
