The unemployment rate in Warren County ticked down in November.

The seasonally-adjusted rate sits at 4.0 percent – down from 4.1 percent in October – according to data from the Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry Center for Workforce Information and Analysis.

4.0 percent represents a decline from Nov. 2022, when the rate was 4.6 percent.

Warren County’s rate is tied for the lowest in the region.

Rates for Bradford and Erie were 4.4 percent and 4 percent, respectively, 5.7 percent in Forest County, 4.0 percent in Meadville and 4.2 percent in Oil City.

Warren County came in above the state unemployment rate of 3.4 percent and also above the federal unemployment rate which came in at 3.7 percent in November.

The data shows job losses in total nonfarm, total – private, service – producing and leisure and hospitality.

According to the Federal Bureau of Labor Statistics at the U.S. Department of Labor, seasonal adjustment “is a statistical technique that attempts to measure and remove the influences of predictable seasonal patterns to reveal how employment and unemployment changes from month-to-month.”

“These seasonal adjustments make it easier to observe the cyclical, underlying trend and other nonseasonal movements in the series,” making it possible to compare month-to-month.
