Gas price steady in Warren County this week

Gas prices fell a penny in western Pennsylvania this week.

But the price remained steady in Warren at $3.599, third highest in the region.

The regional average now sits at $3.37, according to the AAA East Central Gas Price report. A year ago, that average was nearly 40 cents higher than it is today.

The report states that the national average held at $3.07.

“The primary reasons are lower oil costs and only modest growth in gasoline demand,” the report concludes.

Data from the Energy Information Administration shows a minor increase in demand as well as supply.

“The slight uptick in demand has limited pump price drops, causing the national average to stagnate,” the report states.

Oil prices declined after data showed that crude stocks increased.

“Rising stocks signal that demand could be softening, helping to push prices down as the nation settles into winter,” the report states.

Starting at $3.50/week.
