RDA hears update on Jackson Ave. blighted property

The Warren County Redevelopment Authority did not have a quorum to allow action on Tuesday but still heard an update regarding a blighted property on Jackson Avenue.

It was the first time that 2016 Jackson Ave. was before the RDA.

One of the business partners that owns the property told the RDA that the “title was an absolute mess” but that the challenge has been “pretty well worked through.”

County Planner Dan Glotz said that there was a malfunctioning sewer system on the property and that the “roof on it was in pretty rough shape.”

The owner told the RDA that an engineer has been retained to design a new septic system and that the roof has been replaced.

They’re holding off on any additional interior repairs until it’s clear there’s a workable solution to the septic system problem.

The owner noted that the property was lived in until 2021 and while dated is “still in pretty decent shape.”
