The weather for today's downtown Christmas Walk is projected to be more naughty than nice.
As a result, there could be some changes to the event.
The National Weather Service forecast for Friday shows a 100% chance of rain, accumulating between a quarter and half of an inch.
Temperatures will range from the night 30s to the low 40s.
"If the weather does not cooperate, and it puts the safety of our parade participants at risk, we will call the parade off," the Chamber said in an update to the Facebook event page for the Walk. "Thunder, lightning, and the cold temperatures will be monitored closely."
That page will be updated with any changes.
"The walk portion of the evening will happen rain or shine," organizers say. "Many downtown businesses have put in a lot of hard work and dedication to making this event a success. You can still show them support and #shoplocal by visiting their establishments."
McKissock's "Whoville Extravaganza" has been moved inside their building on Liberty St. due to the forest.
Holiday hayrides have been canceled.
"We look forward to better weather next year and the opportunity to offer this service in 2024," the Chamber said.
In the event the parade is canceled, Santa will still be available for photos at 300 Second Ave.
