State: 3 county dentists accept Medicaid

It can be hard to find healthcare providers in a rural area.

For those with Medicaid coverage, the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services says there are three dentists in Warren County that are enrolled.

“DHS can confirm that there are three dentists in Warren County enrolled in Medicaid,” DHS Deputy Communications Director Laura Humphrey said. “All managed care organizations that operate in northwest Pennsylvania meet network adequacy for dental providers, which is a choice of two dentists in the network within 60 minutes’ travel time.”

Finding those dentists can be another matter. Much of the content that emerges from an internet search is outdated. However, Humphrey said individuals can find a provider through their managed care organization.

“If individuals are having trouble finding a provider, they should contact their MCO, which can assist them,” she noted.

In the northwest region of the state – which includes Cameron, Clarion, Clearfield, Crawford, Elk, Erie, Forest, Jefferson, McKean, Mercer, Potter, Venango and Warren counties – AmeriHealth Caritas Pennsylvania, Geisinger Health Plan, Health Partners Plans and UPMC for You are the listed managed care providers.
