Irvine-area residents claim a contractor doing utility line work failed to clean up after cutting down trees on local properties.

They claim an employee of the contractor verbally agreed the cleanup was part of the contract for work.

When the debris was not cleaned, they say they tried to contact the employee, but had no success. They then went to the utility company, which directed them to someone else. That person provided a written copy of the contract that did not include anything related to cleanup.

According to residents, when the contract was signed, work details were not filled in on the document.
