Think you've got a cute dog, especially when you dress that pup up?
The Warren Area Student Union is holding an event where you can prove it.
A dog costume contest is scheduled for Sept. 9 starting at 1 p.m. at WASU, 330 Hickory St.
"Warren Area Student Union is inviting all Canines in costume and owners to a contest at WASU," WASU Director Pam Falber said.
Registration, which is a $10 donation via cash only, starts at 1 p.m. You'll be photographed with your dog and the first 25 that sign up will receive a "doggie bag."
That will be followed by a doggie parade and judges – including K-9 Nick and K-9 Dina – will then select winners for cutest costume, scariest costume and most unique costume.
Treats and fresh water will be available for both the canine and human participants.
Organizers ask that only well-behaved dogs and dogs that are comfortable around other dogs participate. Leashes are also requested.
Proceeds will benefit a WASU student trip to Ghost Lake at Conneaut Lake next month.
The Warren Area Student Union is a place for youth to gather with their friends after school, planning activities and events aimed at building social, leadership and art skills. It's open to youth in sixth through 12th grades and is open from 3 to 6 p.m. on school days.
