WCCBI to hold benefit for A Safe Place shelter
The Warren County Chamber of Business & Industry, in partnership with QuickStaff, is holding an event on Saturday, Sept. 9, to benefit A Safe Place.
A car show will be held in the midtown lot in Warren from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. While any motorized vehicle is welcome to come show off their vehicle, owners who contribute a $10 donation will be eligible to win prizes. Prizes will be given for first, second and third place entrants.
A bike rodeo for children ages five through 12 will be held the same day from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m., with registration at 10:30 a.m., on Liberty Street between Second and Third avenues. A safety check will be conducted, and stations teaching skills and promoting safe riding are included. The event will include two age groups, participants from five to eight years old and those nine to 12 years old. Prizes will be provided to top performers in each age group. Those without a helmet will be provided with one. The bike rodeo is being organized by City of Warren Police, the Warren Lions Club and the Warren Cycle Shop.
The Warren Farmers Market is also being held at the midtown lot that morning from 8 a.m. until noon.
Food will be available from Dad’s food truck and the Lions Club food wagon.
“We are praying for no rain and excited to be a part of this opportunity to collaborate with members of the chamber in benefit of a valued organization of Warren County,” WCCBI Administrative Assistant Savannah Casey said. “It should be a fun Saturday in downtown Warren in support of great causes.”
The event is rain or shine.
A Safe Place provides support and advocacy services and emergency shelter for victims of domestic violence.
